Home Temple Door

A figure of the deity Ganesha, for a door leading into a Hindu home temple.  To make sure the god was depicted accurately, the client supplied us with a depiction of him, and then had my drawing approved by a Hindu priest.  As for the ornate surroundings, the client essentially said, "Just make it beautiful and Indian-looking."  So, I relied on motifs from books on Hindu architecture, but also threw a few hints of the facade of the Fox Oakland Theatre--a Hindu-derived movie palace from 1928--in for good measure.
