Age of Aquarian Deco

From the time I was very young, I wondered why there was such a preponderance of Neo-Classical statues and murals, depicting nude and semi-clothed people carrying or pouring jars of water.  I still wonder, but I've always liked them.  One of my favorite depictions was on the auditorium ceiling of the Del Mar Theatre in Santa Cruz.  That female figure is still vivid in my mind, even though the 1989 earthquake destroyed the Del Mar's ceiling, and the nude, urn-balancing lady is no longer there.  For this piece, I chose to depict a male figure instead, calling to mind so many of those figures I've seen.
