This is one of fourteen original auditorium wall fixtures I and my partners restored for the 1940s-vintage State Theatre, Red Bluff, CA. They had been removed many years ago, suffering minor damage, and during the intervening years, nearly all the original etched glass had been lost. Using the few remaining fragments as reference, I and my etched glass partner, Mike Nelson, created replica etched glass for all the fixtures. Working with partners Greg King and Mark Santa Maria, we restored the finishes on the metal portions of the fixtures, having them powder coated to their original "vanilla white" sheen, and then I added the metallic gold accents by hand. Restoration also included new wiring and lamp sockets, and installing all fixtures to their original locations on the theatre's muraled auditorium walls.
